Congress authorized the Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The funding was intended to help close the Homework Gap. CISD applied for and was awarded the grant to provide K - 12 students with a Chromebook.
Elementary Students
Elementary students have been issued a Chromebook that will stay at home.
Secondary Students
Secondary students have been issued a Chromebook for home and school use.
Elementary Chromebook Fees

Accidental Damage, Lost, or Stolen
- No Fee
- Contact Cleburne ISD Helpdesk at 817-202-4357 (HELP) to report the Chromebook lost or stolen

Intentional Damage
- No Fee
- Contact Cleburne ISD Helpdesk at 817-202-4357 (HELP) to report the Chromebook damaged

Replacement Charger
- $20 for a replacement charger
- Contact your student's campus
Secondary Chromebook Fees

Accidental Damage, Lost, or Stolen
- Fee of $35
- The student will check the Chromebook out from the library daily until the fee is paid.
- Once the fee is paid, the student will be issued a replacement Chromebook.
- After the 2nd accidental damage incident, a replacement Chromebook will not be issued to the student.

Intentional Damage
- Fee of $150
- The student will check a Chromebook out from the library daily until the fee is paid.
- Once the fee is paid, the student will be issued a replacement Chromebook.

Do I need to pay for the Chromebook?
No, the Chromebook was purchased by Cleburne ISD using Emergency Connectivity Funds.

Why is my elementary student receiving a Chromebook?
Kindergarten through 5th-grade students are receiving Chromebooks for home use that were purchased using Emergency Connectivity Funds (ECF). The funding source dictates their use at home.

Is the Chromebook mine to keep, or does it need to be turned back in at the end of the year?
The Chromebook belongs to Cleburne ISD and will need to be returned at the end of the 2022-23 school year. If you leave Cleburne ISD, please return the Chromebook to your student’s campus.

How does my student log in to the Chromebook?
First, connect their Chromebook to your home wireless network. Your student will then sign in to their Chromebook with their username (lunch ID number) and password.

What if my student does not know their username or password?
Username and password information will be sent home with your student. If you still have questions, please get in touch with your student’s homeroom teacher.

What if my student accidentally breaks their Chromebook?
Please get in touch with the Cleburne ISD Helpdesk at 817-202-4357(HELP) to report it broken and discuss your situation. In most cases, accidentally broken Chromebooks will be repaired and returned to your student without a fee.

What if my student loses their Chromebook or it is stolen?
Please get in touch with the Cleburne ISD Helpdesk at 817-202-4357(HELP) to report the Chromebook lost or stolen. A new Chromebook will NOT be issued to your student.

What if my student INTENTIONALLY breaks their Chromebook?
Please contact the Cleburne ISD Helpdesk at 817-202-4357(HELP) to report it broken and discuss your situation. Turn in INTENTIONALLY damaged Chromebooks, and your student will NOT be issued a new Chromebook.

What if my student loses their charger?
A replacement charger can be purchased from your student’s campus for $20.

What can I do if my student’s Chromebook stops working or if I need technical support?
Please get in touch with the Cleburne ISD Helpdesk at 817-202-4357(HELP) for troubleshooting. In some situations, we may need to collect and repair the Chromebook.
