Mrs. Katie Cunningham
My name is Katie Cunningham and this is my first year at Smith as an assistant principal! I taught and coached at SMS for many years before moving to a position in the curriculum department at Central Office, so I feel like I am coming back home! I am a graduate of CHS, received by Bachelor's Degree from Abilene Christian University, and my Master's Degree from Lamar University.
I am married to Tony, a high school teacher and coach, and we have four children. Isaak, a 2020 CHS graduate, Jordenne, a 2022 CHS graduate, Malachi who is a freshman at CHS, and Miles who is a sixth grader here at Smith!
I am an avid sports fan, always cheering for the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavs and, of course, the Jackets! I believe at Smith Intermediate School we support and guide the trajectory of each child's life by building relationships and providing equitable opportunities for every child so they can reach their potential knowing they are loved and supported!
It is a privilege to love and serve and the families in CISD!
