Dr. Kristi Rhone, approved by the Cleburne ISD Board of Trustees as the new assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction at their Monday meeting, is bringing a lot of insight into the district she will now be serving.

                Rhone comes to Cleburne from Grandview ISD, where she has been the assistant superintendent since 2011, preceded by seven years as principal of Grandview Elementary. She is filling the vacancy created by Dr. Andrea Hensley’s move from CISD assistant superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction to assistant superintendent of the district’s Department of Human Resources.

Rhone’s roots as an educator began in Cleburne, preceded by her years as a CISD student. She is a 1988 graduate of Cleburne High School. She began her teaching career in 1993 at C. C. Cooke Elementary.

                With her return to CISD, she will now be adding to her 11 years of service in the district which began as a fifth grade teacher at Cooke and later at Irving Elementary as a Reading Recovery teacher. Rhone was twice honored by her fellow educators in receiving campus Teacher of the Year recognitions in 1998 and 2002.

                “We are so excited for Dr. Rhone to be joining the Cleburne ISD family,” Superintendent Dr. Kyle Heath said. “She has been a part of the Cleburne community from childhood to her years as a teacher in our district. We are thrilled to have her back home, serving the students and teachers of our community.”

                Rhone has a Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University and a Master of Education degree from Texas Woman’s University. Her Doctorate of Educational Leadership is from Tarleton State University.

“Education and children are my passion in life,” Rhone said. “I can’t wait to start this new adventure and return to my roots.”

                  Rhone's first official day in the district will be February 3.
