Cleburne High School Career and Technical Education Celebrating National CTE Week with Facebook Videos

Cleburne High School Career and Technical Education is bringing their celebration of National CTE Week to the community, through a series of videos posted on the Cleburne ISD and Cleburne ISD Career and Technical Education Facebook pages.

Information and highlights of two areas for learning within the Transportation Career Cluster, including the new Heavy Engine/Diesel Technician program, were among the first posts. Also featured are videos on the Manufacturing, Architecture/Construction and Law and Public Safety career clusters. A video profile on Culinary and Arts and the new Sting Bistro campus restaurant, operated by student chefs, is among the posts along with an overview of Cleburne CTE, narrated by Director Mark McClure.

Each day the posts expand to include new videos, with all 14 career clusters to be featured by the end of the week.

“While we are having a virtual observance of National CTE Week this year, we believe we may be extending our reach within the community and beyond, in taking the information to those who might not ordinarily come to the high school for CTE Night,” McClure said. “We are especially proud of these videos, as they were filmed and produced by our Audio Visual/Graphic Arts students in their new studio and lab.”

“These videos have the students engaged in these various career clusters telling the story,” McClure said. “The profiles include footage of the facilities in which these students are receiving instruction and hands-on learning to earn a variety of industry-standard certifications, from the FAA 107 drone pilot license to registered dental assistant.”

The posts will also serve as an information resource for incoming freshmen and CISD students of all ages to give them a glimpse of the areas of study available to them through the high school’s CTE program. More than 97 percent of the students at CHS are enrolled in one or more CTE classes.
