Matthew Harman Swims Away with Silver Medal at Boys State Swim Meet

Cleburne High School senior Matthew Harman swam away with the silver medal in the boys’ 100-yard breaststroke at Saturday’s UIL State Swim Meet.

Harman placed second in the event finals with a time of 29.91. As a state qualifier, Harman also competed in the 50-yard freestyle and was a member of Cleburne’s 200-yard medley relay along with Jaxon Coates, Ryan Head and Parker Pritchard.

Coates also advanced to State in individual racing, competing in the 500-yard freestyle.

"He had a good race--it was fun to watch," Athletic Director Jeri Larrison-Hall said. "You could tell me was excited when he saw just how well he had done. He went into the finals with a top four time, and finished second. We are thrilled to see him bring that medal home to Cleburne."

On Tuesday, Samara Harman will represent Cleburne in the 5A girls state contest. This is her third year to qualify for state, and will be competing in the 500-yard freestyle.
