Festivities Set for Homecoming 2022

Plans are underway for 2022 Homecoming festivities, which will lead off Thursday, September 8 with the Homecoming Parade, starting at 6 PM from Cleburne High School.

The parade will be followed by the Community Pep Rally, to be staged adjacent to Marti Elementary, 2020 W. Kilpatrick, with the traditional bonfire to conclude the evening’s festivities.

The parade route will be the same as in previous years, led by the Golden Pride Band and Parade Marshal. Entries will move east on Harlin Drive from CHS, passing Wheat Middle School before turning south on Woodard. The route will then head north on Colonial, passing between CHS and Wheat, ending at the intersection of Yellow Jacket Drive and Harlin.

Events will continue Friday, with the Cleburne High School Ex-Students Association Parade Marshal, Coming Home Queen and Wall of Fame honorees recognized during pre-game ceremonies starting at 6:30 PM at Jacket Stadium. The Homecoming football game will also serve as the district opener for the Jackets, as Cleburne takes on the Killeen Kangaroos. Kickoff is at 7.

Nominees for Homecoming Queen will be introduced during halftime, as 2021 honoree Jordenne Cunningham, now a nursing major at Abilene Christian University, crowns her successor. Candidates, all seniors, are Trinity Granger, Jayden Key, Jazmine Martin, Amy Martinez, Bianca O’Bryant and Allyson Reed.

Fans are asked to stay for a post-game performance by the CHS Showstoppers Dance Team and the Golden Pride Band.

Pre-sale tickets for the Homecoming Game will be available Friday, September 9 from 8 AM-1 PM at the CISD Central Offices. Pre-sale tickets are $3 students/$6 adults. Tickets at the gate are $8-cash only.
