CISD Partnering with Care Solace to Help Students and Families Access Mental Healthcare Resources and Assistance
Cleburne ISD has partnered with Care Solace to help students and families navigate through the often-challenging process in finding mental healthcare resources and assistance.
“We are working with Care Solace to promote mental health wellness in providing access to a no-cost resource that we believe will be helpful to our students, families and also our staff,” Superintendent Dr. Kyle Heath said. “So often we don’t know who or where to reach out for help. This is a tool we hope will be used—this can be the who and the where. It’s free, it’s confidential, and we know there is a need for a resource like this.”
“Providing a safe and supportive learning environment, centered on the safety, health and emotional wellbeing of our students, and staff, has always been a top priority for our district,” Heath said. “We are grateful to our Trustees, who unanimously approved our participation in this partnership, in seeing this as one more way to help meet the needs of those we serve and support.”
In the recently published U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory “Protecting Youth Mental Health,” Dr. Vivek Murthy called for immediate action to address the nation’s youth mental health crisis.
“Our country has long struggled to address the profound mental health challenges and illnesses that children, adolescents and young adults face,” Murthy said. “Recent national surveys of young people show alarming increases in the prevalence of certain mental health challenges. As we work as a nation to rebuild from the pandemic, focusing on youth mental health is now critical. No child should feel like they have to go through a battle alone.”
The role of Care Solace is to alleviate barriers in finding assistance, provide family support and bridge the gap between the individual and the care provider. Care Solace helps individuals find mental health care providers and substance use treatment centers. Their Care Companion™ team is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days a year to quickly connect students and families to carefully verified providers in the community.
Access to Care Solace services is available in two ways:
- Call (888) 515-0595 at any time. Support is available in 200+ languages. A dedicated Care Companion™ will help every step of the way to research options, secure appointments, and follow up to make sure of a good fit.
- For an anonymous search, by answering a few questions, the participant can get matched with an extensive list of care providers at caresolace.com/site/cleburne
Care Solace is available for use at no cost to CISD students, staff and families. They will connect you with providers accepting all medical insurances including Medicaid, Medicare, and sliding scale options for those without insurance. All information entered on the Care Solace tool is completely confidential and securely stored.
“Our CISD staff is dedicated to touching the lives of our students,” Glenna Pollock, director of guidance and counseling said. “This is one more way we can help the students of our district, and their families.”
The Care Solace service is an optional resource available by choice and is not mandatory to use. Care Solace is not an emergency response service or mental health services provider. In the event of a life threatening emergency, call 9-1-1 or the National Suicide Hotline 1-800-273-8255.
Families interested in counseling-related services for their child, themselves, or another family member may contact Care Solace for assistance. This is also a resource provided by Cleburne Independent School District through the partnership with Care Solace.
